Stu Brown is a visual artist whose work encompasses a range of hand drawn illustration, large scale hand-made collage, painting, digital and print techniques. He graduated from Manchester School of Art with First Class Honours in 2010.
Stu Brown takes influence and reference from the poetic teachings of the great colour theorists of the 19th and 20th centuries, the much-less-poetic ideologies of the 20th and 21st century conspiracy theorists, Berlin Dada, David Hockney and the Beat Generation. Stu Brown worked closely with musicians, bands and labels between 2008-2014 designing album covers, promotional material, merchandise, limited edition posters for rock and roll bands and independent record labels in the North West of England.
Between 2007-2010 Stu Brown was artist in residence at Stafford College specialising in drawing/mark making techniques, narrative illustration and composition. Stu Brown has exhibited works across the UK including London, Manchester Birmingham and Liverpool.
