A fresh look for a new chapter

Hello Citizens!

It has been a while since we have been on stage. What happened? Well, Stu (CT’s Visual Designer) and I had a baby! We are loving being a family unit with all the theatricality and big emotions that come with life with a toddler.

Whilst 2023 was a quiet year as we adjusted to family life, 2024 is set to be a transition year for Citizen Theatre. Later this year we will be taking some time to develop and workshop a number of new works that will start hitting Melbourne stages throughout 2025 and 2026. Among these include a new touring show, two plays and the beginnings of a trilogy for some powerhouse female performers.

You might have noticed, we have freshened up the website (thanks to Chariot Digital) and our overall look has been updated including a new logo and more you will see down the track as we launch show seasons. I’m personally really excited about this branding update, it feels as exciting and beautiful as the work we have coming your way.

You’ll start to see more blog posts throughout 2024. If there is something in particular you’d like to see a blog about, please get in touch! And on that note, as always, we are open to working with new collaborators. If you have an idea for a work in mind, please feel free to get in touch if you think what we do matches what you’re about.

I can’t wait to share our new shows with you, but in the meantime make sure you’re following us on Facebook and Instagram so you can’t be the first to get behind the scenes glimpses into our development studio.

Jayde

Can’t wait to get back in the studio to start development some new work!
