Diamonds is a Morning Melodies/seniors show, that will dazzle and delight audiences with the songs of one of the most glamorous celebrities that ever lived: Marilyn Monroe.

Diamonds will feature Marilyn Monroe’s most popular, sweetest and sexiest tunes including "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend", "Bye Bye Baby" and  "Some Like It Hot".

The blonde bombshell will sing her favourite songs from her best films, recreating the glamour and fun of “Show Biz” in the 1950s in a concert created specially for those who remember her.

PERFORMER - ANNIE AITKEN

Annie has had a very diverse career so far working alongside many of Australia’s theatre greats! This year holds exciting projects, including making her Production Company debut in their season of Oklahoma! at the State Theatre. She’s then playing the lead role of Cunegonde in Candide at the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. Not only is this a dream role of hers but also a dream cast; co-stars include the legendary Caroline O’Connor and Alex Lewis.

Most recently, Annie was in the original cast of the World Premier of Muriel’s Wedding: the Musical (STC/Global Creatures) (dir. Simon Phillips). Prior to that she made her debut as a leading lady originating the role of Australia’s own Nellie Melba in Melba, a new musical at the Hayes Theatre Co. (dir. Wayne Harrison), starring opposite Australia’s iconic soprano Emma Matthews.

Other professional credits include Bunny in the Helpmann Award winning Sweet Charity Tour (Hayes Theatre Co./Tinderbox/Neil Gooding/Luckiest Productions) (dir. Dean Bryant, choreography by Andrew Hallsworth) Reno’s Angel: Chastity in Anything Goes (Opera Australia/GFO), and understudying the lead roles of Maria and Liesl Von Trapp in the London Palladium production of The Sound of Music (GFO/RUG/David Ian Productions). 

Annie is a proud 2014 graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, BA Music Theatre Course.

 The Golden Age of Romance is a Morning Melodies/seniors concert that will sweep you off your feet with heartfelt tunes and beautiful dances to take your breath away. The Golden Age of Romance will feature some of the most popular, most romantic songs from the Golden Age of jazz & musical theatre including “Our Love Is Here To Stay”, “Some Enchanted Evening”, “The Way You Look Tonight” and more!

Weaving dazzling dance numbers, sumptuous songs performed by musical theatre rising stars Willow Sizer & Jack Wunsch and a 3 piece jazz band, and interspersed with the most beautiful love letters written by celebrities of the era such as Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Cash, Elizabeth Taylor, audiences will be transported to a delightful concert that captures the elegance and charm of a bygone era.

BIOGRAPHY WILLOW SIZER

Willow completed both the Foundation Course (Music Theatre 2014) and the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) at the Victorian College of the Arts consecutively. She is the grateful recipient of the Dr Andrew and Richard McAliece scholarship. Whilst at the VCA she played the roles of Kaiser Wihelm in Oh, It’s a Lovely War Mate! (dir Maude Davis), Vocal Ensemble in Company (dir. Roger Hodgman), and The Chaperone in the The Drowsy Chaperone (dir Alister Smith.). She was also selected to participate in workshops at VCA with the Michael Chekhov Ensemble (MICHA, NY), Andrew Byrne (founder of the Singing Athlete) and John Bucchino. She performed at Hamer Hall for both the 2016 and 2017 program of Morning Melodies as a host of the evening and a soloist. In her final year of study she was selected to fly to Indonesia to take part in a cross-cultural creative workshop with students from the International Institute of the Arts (Jodjakarta). Once home, she immediately began rehearsals for her cabaret premiere Put the Blame on Mame. The show opened at Chapel off Chapel in the Melbourne Cabaret Festival with a sold out season. She recently performed another show she also wrote and produced, Death of a Demi Diva for the 2018 Butterfly Club Cabaret Fringe Festival (dir. Jayde Kirchert).

BIOGRAPHY JACK WUNSCH

After graduating from The McDonald College of Performing Arts, where he specialised in Music Theatre, Jack moved from Sydney to study at The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). Jack had previously performed with The Australian Ballet for their 2013 season of Don Quixote. While at the VCA, he was an ensemble member of Company 17’s production of Oh! What a Lovely War, Mate! (dir. Maude Davey) and was a featured dancer in the short film Sweet Dreaming, directed and written by Katie Escane. Jack was also a featured vocalist in Morning Melodies: Hollywood Movie Musicals. He was thrilled to perform in the role of Harry in Company (dir. Roger Hodgman) earlier in 2017 and then more recently to take on the role of Gangster 1 as well as Dance Captain to Dana Jolly in The Drowsy Chaperone. He is currently performing on Norwegian Cruise Line's production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
